This project was done in the MOTION III class I attended at CCS. We had to invent a conference for which we had to create a teaser which should create the overall feeling and a story which explains the purpose of the conference. All was done in Cinema 4D, Blender and After Effects.
Perfect! The perfect design conference. A perfect service or a product is impossible because everyone has unique needs. If you take a pen for example, the criteria to use it at a bank would be, that it cannot be erased afterwards whereas during math class you want to be able to change it all the time. This paradox can be solved with the use of artificial intelligence. Through various ai algorithms it will find a 'perfect' product and service or letting you believe it is perfect is the way to go.
This project had to be completed in 5 weeks.
Teaser
The teaser is to create interest and make you curious. It is the beginning of a bigger story and only reveals the speakers that are going to talk at the event.
Searching for the perfect product/service our journey starts on earth. Scanning through terrain, the search brings us from the surface to underwater, through woods and into the dunes where we find a shape, that has no flaws. A circle. It is irritated by sharp shapes that contrast the perfect round shape. Having found the object our journey gets more and more abstract. It being out of our comprehension we dive into a completely abstract dimension, starting with a planet and ending with the perfect design conference logo.
Storyboard Sketches
Before going into the 3D Modelling the concept had to be on paper. Different communication methods and design methods have to be on paper in order to avoid unnecessary loops and especially render times. These are some frames that decided the overall atmosphere.
Story Trailer
As a perfect product/service is so powerful and unbelievable - it is no longer about trying to make everything perfect, but the other way round. The world is now shaped by the circle, the analog to the perfect product/service, and wraps around it. Everything that happens is now happening in the circle.
